Andrew Sheldon Background
Andrew Sheldon was born in Sydney, Australia. After attending Knox Grammar School, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Macquarie University in 1991, followed by a Mining Engineering and Mineral Processing Graduate Diploma from the University of NSW. Between 1993-98 he was employed as an energy analyst with international energy consultants Barlow Jonker, specialising in Asian coal and power markets. From 1998-2003 he worked in Japan, in events management and as a mining equities analyst, before becoming a professional trader; specialising in mining stocks and property. Andrew is a consummate researcher, a critical thinker and writer. He is best known for his analysis of mining stocks and property markets, selling his insightful publications to clients all around the world. In recent years he has ceased his contributions to the Japan Times to focus on lifestyle and life enhancing strategies as the principal of SheldonThinks. This is the start of something big!
About this portal
The purpose of this web portal is to provide a range of tools to help people identify the importance of remaining goal-orientated in EVERY aspect of life, as well as providing a critical feedback-based philosophy for optimising one’s life. Our intent is to offer analytical tools for resolving concrete problems so you can see the practical value of critical thinking. We offer individuals and enterprises a values-thought based approach to improving their performance and effectiveness. The intent is that by offering people evidence of these strategies and tools in an applied book form, we can demonstrate the value of more comprehensive programs.

The reason for describing them all is that I am very much interested in these issues, and thus have a great deal to say about them (subject to competing priorities), and I also see them as marketing tools, as a basis for other people of like mind to connect with me. Through these elements I want to convey the presence of a central theme to one’s life that derives from a fundamental life choice. People are of such mixed premises or values, and that is because of the way they are raised. They might welcome risk in one aspect of their life, but be very conventional in other aspects. The questions – are they doing that to evade responsibility, avoid risk, or is it an expression of priorities? Ask yourself what is the consequence in terms of their decision making and self esteem.
